Gabriella "Gabi" Bafidis is a seasoned mortgage professional with over two decades of experience in the industry

​

She began her career in 2001 as a loan officer with MIC, specializing in VA mortgage refinancing. During her tenure, MIC was recognized as the top VA lender for 17 consecutive years, funding up to 20,000 VA refinances per month. Gabi quickly became one of the company’s top loan officers, setting records for most loans written in a single day, earning the Perfect Manager Award, and making history as MIC’s first female National Director

In 2014, she joined Security Service FCU as a loan officer, where she was recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the top nine loan officers in the city for four consecutive years (2014-2017), closing over 600 loans annually. In 2019, she brought her expertise to PenFed Credit Union, where she became a top-producing loan officer, funding over 50 units per month and later leading her own team

In 2024, Gabi joined forces with her brother, the owner of Direct Rate Mortgage, to pursue a shared vision—building the number one mortgage company in the country
